    There si a gentleman from England that contributes to the American Long Rifle thread taht collects punt guns and other guns of that type. Has shown several different types. They showed one fired from a punt and the resultant back wash. Hate to clean all the ducks after shooting one.

    Go Boom;

    Their's a bunch around shooting muzzle loading shotgun trap. Group scoffs at anything under 8 gage.
    Fellow told me they make the barrels from high pressure steam pipe. I'm sure the plans and material specs are not hard to come by.

    He said they stand 100 yards behind the trap house. Ladies with their little 8 gage stand 75 yards back.
    They keep a score card on the line and you just step back to the load table for reload then when you're ready move up to the line and shoot for score. No set order of fire. That's been a few years ago and I can't remember where it was they did that. But I do know building a big smooth bore from off the shelf material isn't any big challenge. I think the stock work may be the biggest challenge. But that's probably because I'm a machinist and a long tube isn't much new to me. Or is a little mill work. Making it look nice would take some time.
