    My Savage 10FP, 308.

..............I think I posted about getting this rifle late last year. Synthetic stock, accu-trigger. Way out of character for me. Anyway it had a bad bore. Truth to tell I never bothered to do anything with it except to fireform 100 rounds. Why I even did that I don't know as I knew the bore was rough and planned on sending it back to Savage.

If you wonder why it took about 9 months for me to get around to it, you just don't know me I can dither and procrastinate with the pros. I also never did bother sighting in the scope so I don't really know how the rifle might have shot. Don't ask, it's a long dull story with no redeeming qualities.

Savage had it about 3 weeks and I got it back 2 days ago. It had a new barrel on it. The old one looked like the button had chattered all the way down. I guess it slipped thorugh QC and mentioned in my enclosed letter I was a bit disappointed.

Included with the returned barreled action was a firing report with test target.

Three rounds at 100 yards = .441". Not too shabby, eh? Ammo was listed as Federal 168gr Sierra Match King HPBT. Of course I don't know how it would have shot before, but it couldn't have been much better.

Good to hear they took care of it. I've been pleased with the performance of my Savages. Maybe with the right boolit you can make it a real tackdriver.

Savage .308's seem to dominate the Cast Bullet Association factory benchrest class so the factory must be doing something right.
