Got it in the mail last nite. Thank you, Bruce! That's a beautiful mold.

I have a red dot (Cheapo BSA - got it for $30!) on one of mine. Bought an alumunium base for the 91/30? Russian rifle and filed it down until it fit inside the sight base on the Steyr. It's solid and it works, so far.

Wayne, post a pic of your Red Dot mount?

I love it... a Frankenstein mount for launching Frankenstein boolits! (if you'll pardon my calling your mod to the MN base a Frankenstein... it was out there, I had to take it. )

I'm at work now, and won't have a chance to even think about this until Friday nite - hell, by then I'll have forgotten it!!

Sure, I'll give it a try. No guarantee of photographic quality, though.

I received my molds from Babore yesterday and gave them a try last night.
I bought the 223 mold as well as the oldfeller mold.
They are pure poetry to use and have some of the best craftsmanship I have ever seen.
Thank you Babore for a superior product.

    Steyr sope mount

Here is a close up of the mount and the rifle and the bottom of the sight. You can see the tip of the original sight base and the original pin that attaches the base to the rifle. This base has two screws that impinge on the barrel to tighten and stabilize the base.

It was originally for the Russian rifle, I simply filed it more narrow and filed a step on the front if I remember right. It wasn't hard for a klutz like me.

This thread will be moving to the "Archives" shortly

...........Since this mould has been done and is available outside of the normal GB quantities, it's really a done deal. I'll let it ride another week before moving it.
