Is it OK to make .38 / .357 GasCheck boolits WITHOUT Gaschecks, & w/ Lube in GC ledge

I usually store my boolits in my cool, dry basement, bullet down.

So it should be okay... I'll do one test batch with Lube on the ledge, and one batch where I've wiped the lube out of the gas-check ledge. Then see what works better for leading or smokey powder burning.

Inhubad, sounds like you're using the Holy Black, and probably for CAS. That's me. Anyhow, I used to carefully wipe the bases of my boolits free from PRS lube so it wouldn't migrate to the BP or primer. Got lazier and quit.

I'm shooting .38 Snakebites that I loaded eight years ago and had stored in a hot shed in Florida. If anything migrated, the gun or the boolit never noticed, so now I don't bother about it. Ymmv -
