I notice a lot of you use computer printed targets or ones you buy at the range.I have found you can get left over wall paper ,for little or nothing at a wall covering outlet.I make a template out of thin card board or plywood then spray paint .It is cheap and works well on both 600 yd targets and pistol targets, silhouettes, ect.

    I use a do-all target stand - it was like 12 bucks.
A piece of foam board clipped on and some printed targets.

If I am ZEROing a rifle I'll use a dirtybird or Shoot N C target.

I think he means he lays either a circle or doughnut shaped piece of card on the blank side of a piece of wallpaper, then spray paints over the top of both. Once the piece of cardboard is removed, it leaves either a white bullseye or ring.

I have downloaded a bunch of these some time ago as a bitmap and then taken off the logos names and other **** on the target that I don't need to waste ink on. I also made a small information box listing just the stuff I need. Then copy and paste as I need it. I even changed some of I need. They are pretty cheap to make. also I bought a small cheapest on sale printer that I can find so I dont use the high dollar ink in photo printers. sometimes you can get a new cheap printer cheaper then the ink. I got one one time on sale for 34.99 with a 10.00 rebate making it 25.00.

Not actually on topic about printing targets:

The old green bar printing paper makes great target paper, but don't use the all white back side of it. Draw or stick your bullseye on the contrasting green or white side.

The first reason for doing so is that the green stripes tend to cut down on the glare that an all white background will give on a sunny day. That glare tends to cause eye fatigue and even headaches when shooting for a longer amount of time. The bland green will still contrast well with a bright colored or dark bullseye.

The second reason is that those alternating stripes are exactly 1/2" wide, which is like having a grid or built in ruler to help measure groups and make adjustments to sights or scope.

Lastly, that paper measures 11" x 14", and will catch a few more holes than 8 1/2" by 11", which is mostly helpful when doing an initial sight in of scope or sights.

I'm new here and just stumbled upon this thread- thanks for all the target links, I've already printed copies of one that I think will work really well for rifle testing.

    Thanks to all.

    A belated welcome, bruinruin.

Let me know if you would like me to send any target designs in Microsoft Word format. I have a few that have grids on them to help with sighting in rifles.

Excel is the best for grids. Your post gave me a great idea!

    This morning my printer sez,
    "Carriage Jam. Clear carriage jam."

So it might become a target from my printer.

It's about to become toast, since it already has the jam....

    Cool Targets from your Printer

One perk I find in printing targets on my printer is, the same target
(after I have shot it) can be easily scanned and pased on as e-mail.

Awesome thread! Thanks for all the good tips. There are a lot of good targets here that I've never seen.

A lot of good targets here:

    http://www.accurateshooter.com/shooting-skills/targets/

The cost of printer paper, ink, and etc. being high as it is, suggest you download the file you want to a thumb drive and the next time you are near a Kinko's or FedEx Office place have them print you a supply. The only thing cheaper would be to use the copy machine at work .

100 and 200 yd nikon coyote special

Here are a couple of 11x17 targets i made for the coyote special scope. I have used the 100. I haven't used the 200 yd yet, i got busy with another rifle and haven't gotten to the range with the .22-250
I'm lucky enough to have an 11x17 printer at work
    the grid is 3/4"

I have these targets I made up to give out to my customers who also shoot. Just a little "promo op" for my customers.
