Will Lee mold handles fit Lyman?

I'm looking to buy the Lyman Sabot mold and was wondering if Lee mold handles will fit the Lyman mold? Lymans handles ar $32 and Lees handles are $12.

    Any info/advice much appreciated,

    Don

RCBS, too, with a bit of filing/grinding.

I have some Lyman and Lee handles and I find the Lee handle with the Lyman mold to be more comfortable. Like 462 said RCBS too with just a litle filing top and bottom.

Without modification, Lee handles fit Lyman 1 and 2 cavity and RCBS moulds. Enlarging the pin holes allows you to use Saeco moulds. Thinning the handles with a grinder will allow you to use them on a Lyman 4 cavity.

Right now all I own are Lee handles. I would rather spend $13 and 10 mins with a drill or grinder than spend $30 for a name.

The next set of handles I am going to get are the Cabin Tree handles. At $73 they aren't cheap, but will completely eliminate any issues with making sure the blocks are closed with the same pressure every time.

Other handles worth considering would be Red River Rick's handles. I don't own a pair, but they look to be built with fantastic tolerances and are a thing of beauty!

+1 on Rick's handles. They will last forever.

I made a shim to thicken the lee handle for the Lyman mold, and it fit an older Ideal mold too. Cut it out, filed it, drilled a hole, had to make two, one for each side.. No problems with the fit.

I know that for my new .40/175TC Lyman 4 cavity I had to thin the Lee handles as well as enlarge the hole to 7/32 for the mold pins to pass through.

If you look at the "Sticky's" in this sections heading , you will find a chart that gives which mould blocks Lee 6-cavity handles will fit and if any modifications are required . It's sticky #8... 3 pages long .
It's a good resource and I made a couple copies to keep on hand .
Lyman 1 and 2 cavity mould blocks fit the Lee 6-cavity handles with no modifications ... I've been installing them on all my Lyman moulds with no problems .
