Gas checks seem to be available in standard calibers. Does it matter what actual diameter you are sizing in relation to the gas checks? 45 caliber for instance will vary from .451 to say .460.

there are two 45 cal g/c's one for revolver .452 and one for rifle .458
there are iirc three for the 41's a thick for 411 and thin for 411/405 win, and one for the 416,
but they are sized for their particular diameters like 323, 308-311,358 etc.
and no you can't use 323 on a 338 and yes you use 308's for your 303 in 314.
