I like the idea of a PB with a big HP but don't make it too lightweight. Wouldn't this be about the same thing we have been talking about in this thread?

I'd sign up for a 4 or more cavity, .432, plain base with HP on one is available-

I just can't see a plain base and a HP. I'd want the GC so I could drive it hard.

Newbe question: I assume if it is made with GC the Check isn't manditory unless velosity is at the top end.

I've been thinking about this one as I really enjoy 44's of all nature. I have come to look at a light bullet in a 44 as 225, 215, or even 200 grains but here you're talking significantly less yet. What is the attraction for a super lightweight HP? Are we talking a nasty personal defense load? Or will you get good enough accuracy at a distance for some varmint shooting? Or what....?

Topic came up on the 429215 with a HP.

A light wt boolit to start with, add a HP and it gets even lighter.

Could make the HP smaller, to add more wt and it would probably work just as well.

It's easier to 'file down' a big HP pin, hard to add metal back.

The 174 Grainer looks good. Will still give some expansion but you have the mass of a heavier bullet. Should be easier to cast, too. I likey!

With NOE you can get the standard solid boolit, and then add on one HP cavity if you want.

With Mihec, a 2 cav cramer style HP is available.

When you add on a HP cavity you can order extra pins for different depths and sizes of HP's.

This would probably be good in a 44 special too.

It's easy enough to make one plain base.

My problem with a 2 cavity mold is that the 429215 GC bullet shoots so well in so many different sixguns its hard to keep up with a 2 cavity mold. I would like to see a NOE mold, that way you could still HP one cavity and have plenty of shooting bullets and make hunting bullets all at the same time.......

Hihec 2 cav Cramer reversable pin. Still like 220 solid, Small HP. Or i would like 5 or 6 cav. no hollopoint. O HECK JUST PUT ME DOWN FOR WHATEVER IS DECIDED.!!!!!!

6 cavity would require Mihec or lee. Mihec would be OK. If lee is involved, I'm out.

id be interested if its an exact copy of the lyman bullet. Im not interested in fooling with designed that are changed. the bullet shoots as is and it seems like everytime someone thinks they have a better idea the bullet flops.

Gee guys, I wish I had seen this thread sooner-
I just last week sent my Lyman 2cav mold in 429215 off to Eric in Corvallis to have him remove the gas checks from the bases and add a HP pin to one cavity!
Production is always better with more cavities, so I'll be signing up with you guys if we can do a plainbase option with one or more HP cavities, done by anyone but Lee-
