Any thoughts on lub on the gas check????? I've always tried to clean the base of the gas check before loading. I know I've missed a few. Would it affect accuracy any????

abunaitoo,
I don't think it will affect (effect?) accuracy at all. Its possible the lube could conatminate the powder if its in high heat, but that has never happened to me, so shoot em and don't worry.

I believe you are wise to try to keep all the lube off the base of your bullets, gas checked or otherwise. I've not done controled studies, purposely leaving lube on bullet bases, but I feel sure it would change the combustion and the powder burn. And, most likely, would have and adverse effect on consistancy of velocity. Likely accuracy would suffer. Keep those bases clean of lube would be my notion on it.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and it irritates the pig.
