    Post .314-120

I got a group buy 314-120 from Willbird. I haven't had much luck with Lee molds in the past but with all the hoopla on here I decided to give it one more try. The mold arrived on Monday but had to wait till Tuesday to warm it up. The fourth time I poured it the front allignment pin pulled out. So much for Lee I thought. Took it to work on Wednesday and put the pin back in with Loctite 603 which is a retaining compound for bushings. While at it I drilled and tapped under the sprue lever as per Buckshot's posting. Fired the pot up tonight and cast nearly 1000 good looking boolits in about 90 minutes. This group buy mold has definately changed my opinion of Lee molds. Boolits look real good are are very uniform at .308 nose diameter and .314 on the bands. Weight is 120.5 grains from random samples. I will definately have some sized, lubed and loaded for a tryout session this weekend. Thanks to Willbird and others involved in this group buy.

The boolits shot real well with 10.5 gr. 2400. I'm gonna step it up a little to 11.0 and 11.5 gr. 2400. I've had no leading in the 30 Carbine Blackhawk with these boolits sized to .309 with Felix lube. I'll let ya'll know what the increase in powder does.

I´m getting my 314-120 in few weeks, if everything goes like it should.
It´s good to know I can use it in my LMG-mosin (.312) and size it down for my m/28-30 in avatar (.3095).

..............That was going to be my prime first firearm usage for this boolit design, the 30 M1 Ruger BH. Glad to know they size to .309" okay.

Next will be a couple 30's and fat 30's rifles with loads like 6.0grs of Red Dot. Real stem winders !
