    454 Casull & Green Dot

I have around 300, 300 grain Pb bullets and want to use them for target practice using Green Dot. Id like to keep them around 900 - 1000fps. Does anyone have an info for starting and max? Thanks, Mike

I used 7.5 grains with a 230 grain bullet at around 900 fps so starting at 6 grains will possibly yield what you want. You do not have to worry about pressure issues with the casull as this load will not even come close to what your gun can handle of course. Although watch for leading as your bullet will be the determining factor of how much powder you can use. I water quenched those 230 grainers so about 16-18 ish bhn on the hardness of the bullet and sized .002 over bore diameter. I could probably go more on this round without leading, but simply wanted a plinker round. A rough estimate on the safer side..........do not exceed 10 grains of green dot and work up slowly checking for pressure signs of flat primers.
