MiHec,
So you are only doing solid nose right now, not hollow points? I will wait for the hollow point version.
Thanks!

Mihec can you guestimate how long before the brass comes in to cut this mold?
What would be the price of the 6 cavity alu. mold? For now i would like to be in on the 6 cavity unless the brass crammer would be cut fairly soon.
Kevin
I would be interested in this mold for my 44 Spc Flattop....Not new to casting, but have never cast a HP before...Please add me to the list..A brass 2 cavity, plain base, that will cast at .432, with all available HP pins.
Thanks,
johnny

Haven't used a MP mold yet....really getting excited about this mold. The reversible pins really look ingenious.
Where does the brass mold stand in regards to coming up to temp as compared to aluminum or other materials? It really looks nice asthetically.
Thanks,
johnny
Since brass is an alloy of mostly copper and some zinc, it has most of
the properties of copper; in that copper conducts electricity very
easily, we all know that, but it conducts heat very efficiently also.
So these brass moulds heat up well, but also shed heat very quickly,
and must be kept and used at a fairly high temperature compared to
iron moulds.
This also means that a brass Cramer with steel pins will “suck” the
heat right out of the pins, so keeping the pins hot is critical. There is a
definite learning curve to success with these but owners love them.
Electric hot plates are a favored accessory to maintain mould temperature.
And yes, they’re very easy on the eyes.
.
Thanks for that answer Cord.
So its loses heat more rapidly than iron molds...Do they lose heat slower than aluminum molds?
Presently I cast with iron and aluminum so if its somewhere in between it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Just can't wait to get my hands on one of these...looks like alot of fun.
Thanks again,
johnny
btt .....lets get this one movin'!!!

Sorry to dredge this thread up, found it while researching the 434 423
Wanted to take this chance to say thanks for doing all this work to bring us quality products. Honchoing group buys here is like herding a bunch of drunk ferrets. You manage to do that as well as machine molds that have no peer among other current manufactures. Thank you again for your dedication to a superior product.
