need a SN63PB37 Bar Solder / soft lead recipe

Was given a few 1.5+ lb bars of Kester ultrapure bar solder SN63 / PB37
can I get away with adding just some of this to pure soft lead to make a decent bullet alloy? Some one told me I should mix in some Clip On's as well for the antimony.
If I can at what ratio? I have 40 pounds of soft sheet lead I would like to use for this. any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Depends on what you want to use it for. The alloy you have is basically a 2/3 tin 1/3 lead solder, or 2 to 1. A very good alloy for many cast bullet applications is 20/1 lead to tin. Since what you have right now is basically a 2/1 alloy what you need to do is dilute this solder ten-fold, so 10 pounds of pure lead to 1 pound of your solder should work really nicely.

    Glen,
Thank you very much, This was one of those things that seemed simple enough to figure out, But I just kept over thinking it and adding what if's.

I cast mostly for pistol and the majority of that being cowboy action loads and plinking rounds. I recently purchased a mold for my M1-Carbine so I will be casting for that soon as well.

    Thanks again,
    Nefarious
