Weaver K10 Parallax adjustment questions.

I just got a older Weaver K10 60(EL Paso Texas)that im restoring and im trying to figure out how the front adjustable objective works? It has 3 rings on the front bell, One is the front cap that screws off, The middle has a bunch of screws and it doesn't move, The inner has the yardage markings and it screws in and out till it bottoms on the middle one but dont seem to adjust anything.
Is the middle ring supposed to move or is it a fixed ring and how do I adjust the yardage objective? I dont want to force anything and put another old Weaver in the scope boneyard so any help would be appreciated. If you need pics I can post some. Thanks, Mike

Parallax adj if everything is working right also adjusts focus. You should be able to look through the scope at something 50 yards away with the scope set on "50" and both target and crosshairs will be in focus, if you move the setting to "200" and look at the same object the crosshairs will be in focus but the target will be somewhat blurry.

loosen the front ring.
the middle ring does not rotate, just goes front to back.
rotate the third ring to the appropriate yardage(align with the mark on the middle ring), and then
tighten the forward ring.
it is suppose to keep the distance focus correct/ min/no parralax.

if all else fails see ironsight.com or search on this site for them......70 bucks or so, severl months later...like new.

Thanks Mike, So the middle ring is supposed to move in and out a little?? This one dont move at all and might be froze up.

loosen the front ring, and turn the rear ring ccw to create a gap front and rear of the middle ring.
it should be loose and just slide front to back. if not look for a cause. bent ? dirt? corrosion ?

put some lite oil...rust buster wd40 , let it soak and then try again.

the front and rear rings may help move it as the threads will apply some force.

like i said all else sent it off to iron sight

Got it! It took a little Liquid Wrench but it loosened up. This is a pretty nice scope and it should be good on my one old Savage. Thanks Mike in co.

AHHH, that's how it works.. Just got one of the old K-10s for my Remington 522 and couldn't figure it out.

Wang Dang Doodle! This thread came up in a search and answered my question I also had for my newly acquired vintage Weaver K10. Those Weaver engineers were clever!

While I planned to use this scope on a Savage 112 heavy barrel 223 Rem, would the scope survive a vintage Barret 50 M82 with the 6 inch weaver rail bolted tho the welded on platform?

If any vintage scope will survive a Barret, it'll be a Weaver imo.

Thanks for that info. That was very helpful ! I just bought a Winchester 70 with the K1 scope, and I’ve been trying to figure it out. What is the adjustable at the rear end of the scope for? Is that also for focus? Thanks!

The rear end is for diopter to make the cross hairs crisp.
