    `52 K31 with RCBS 165SIL

I cast a bit more than 200 boolits with my RCBS 165SIL mould recently and lo and behold it fits the throat of my K31 as has been suggested. My OAL is 2.830 and dare not go longer to start with. I`ve surfed a bit and noted the recommended powders but have precious few of the standouts. I have IMR3031, IMR4895, IMR4198, Varget. I thought I had some Blue Dot, but only found a number of old cans of Red Dot. Sigh...

My alloy is WW, and am not interested in the speed needed so it shoots to the sights at 100yds at first.

    Suggestions?

Not clear what you are asking, but with a practical cast bullet load, you should expect to have to set the elevation at 400-600 meters on the issue sight to get centered on a SR-1 target at 100 yards with a 6:00 hold. Alliant 2400 is less finicky, but if you are unwilling to purchase additional powders, try 10-12 grains of Red Dot.

i like to water drop that boolit and shoot it over 28-30 grs of 4895. 3031 should work too.
i just copied spme 308 data, for my start.
it's all an educated guess,,,, till the trigger is pulled.

the more i find out about shootin boolits, the more it contradicts everything i ever learned about shooting jaxketed.

I use 20 grains of 2400 for my K31 load.

    Bob S.,

I did not "search" well enough prior to my question...my bad.

I was referring to the speed needed (2000fps) in order to have a CB strike to POA at 100yds...sorta. This was mentioned elsewhere, not here.

I have since found a wealth of info since then, and note that you are indeed a major contributor at the Swiss-dedicated web locations.

I`ll shut up and shoot it now...

    Scott
