Finally a use for the Mas36

Came across a neat picture in The World's Great Machine Guns, a Mas 36 used as a support for the Chatelerault machine gun. "It's fore sight was set back with just that objective in mind".
You see they were machine gun mounnts that you could shoot with, not real guns!

Boy that should get the frogs hopping!

If you get rid of all the wood, the rest makes pretty good rebar!

Make fun of them all you want but with the right loads at 1800-200 FPS they can be tack drivers. Just have to work on the sight a little. I have one that was never used or dropped. Mark

Don't want to be trying to run away from my MAS36, it is a tack driver. Dorky looking gun, but shoots realllllllllllllllllllllllll good. nasty looking bayonet as well.

They look kind of odd and the stock is too short but they sure do shoot.

They fell off the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down but in terms of simplicity, ruggedness, and ease of shouldering for a fast shot they are excellent.

Also shoots pretty good with J bullets. Not tried cast yet, this spring.

I saw one at a little gun store I was at recently, looked like a new one and wasn't priced too bad, it was awful hard not to bring it home
