    Lyman 427666, Worthwhile?

Wonder what's everyone's opinion is on the Lyman 427666 mold?

I've been using the 42798 since I was a teen in my 44-40's and for the most part have had real good results. Most of the time loaded with bp.

But now I would like to upgrade to a boolit with a crimp groove. Going to attempt some smokeless loads this year.

Wanted some real folk input on it. Seems the online reviews are "meh" biased based for sales.

Rule #1 - Never pass up a good excuse to buy another boolit mould .

I need / would like to try a boolit with a crimp groove ...(great Excuse)
427666 is a nice looking Round Flat nose ... perfect for that lever gun that might fall into your lap ! ... (another good excuse )
It might just be the most accurate boolit you ever shot in your gun(s)

If I had a 44-40 ... I would get it and test it because it looks like it would be a "shooter" ... and you never can tell unless you shoot it .

    So I say ... Upgrade ... Buy It !

    I use the 427666 and 427098 in a 1866 44-40 lever gun.
It's my understanding that the 427666 is an Ideal copy of the original used when the round was developed in the late 19th century.
I would jump on that mold if I were you.
