Brass Purchase

I'm posting this to get some input

I purchased 200 rounds of 44 mag brass, not here on a different forum.

I found an ad from a long time forum member. He was advertising brass for sale, 44 mag brass and 45 colt brass. So I ordered 200 pieces of 44 magnum brass from him, when it arrived instead of 200 pieces of 44 magnum, I received 58 pieces 44 special and 142 44 magnum brass.

I got in touch with him and his thought was why do you need 44 magnum to shoot paper and varmints?
My thoughts he advertised 44 magnum brass, not 44 special brass. And I purchased 44 magnum brass, not 44 special brass.

So here's the input I'm looking for
Would you stay persistent, but civil on receiving what you ordered? Or would you forget about the shortage of 58 pieces of brass and let it go?

That's what I don't want to do is, call him out on that forum
I could write about my experience without posting who or what forum it occurred on, I know he would read it and the replies

I had a HVAC business 25 years and always full filled our contracts. I'm sure it was an accident, but I still feel I ordered 44 magnum brass and not 44 special

2) Make a feedback comment as to 'not as ordered."

Find it surprising that a long time forum member would do that. Must have gotten away with this many times previously. Otherwise he would have just listed it as to what it really was...

That's about my 2 options
I was surprised as well, being a long time with 25k plus posts on that forum. I believe it's from an indoor range, and he blames his buddy for sorting the brass? haha
I think he's been getting away with wrong brass more than once over on that forum

#3 choice tell him you require the brass you ordered, if he does not make it right call him out. It is your duty to help other people from this guys dishonesty. IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. Silence perpetuates the problem.

He finally got back in touch and said he will send me 67 pieces of 44 magnum brass, I told him I just want the 58 I purchased.

Then he asked me if I would ship his 44 special back to him, or some other forum member? I told him I would ship the 44 special brass back to him, and he can send it to whoever he wants.
I don't feel like I should be paying shipping again?

And you're right, as a member to a forum. If there's a problem it should be brought up. I'm hoping he makes good, I wouldn't want to call someone out publicly.

He finally messaged me back, we chatted and he agreed to send me 58 44 magnum cases, so even though I already paid to have it shipped here, I'm going to step up and pay shipping for the 58 44 specials shipped back to him.

I've never shot a 44 special case in my 629 that I bought new about 36 years ago. The way I look at it if I want 44 special performance, I can reduce load my 44 magnum loads.

Thanks for the offer, he finally messaged me back and I'm going to send them back to him. I have them sized, decapped, and wet tumbled, they look brand new inside and out

greybuff thanks for the reply, and that sounds like a better idea getting a hold of a moderator. Fortunately he finally got back in touch with me this evening, I'm kind of wondering if he may also be on this forum under a different handle?
