    Monocular eyeglass attachment

[I] got into my seventies and discovered I can no longer see the bull well at 100 yards and past. I know some shooters use a small attachment to their eyeglass lens that allows a good sight picture. When I asked my eye doctor about these, he was unaware of them. Where do I go to obtain one of these? Can anyone tell me about them? Thanks.

A lot of older fellows swear by, and use the Merit attachment: https://www.meritcorporation.com/products.html Me? I just shut my eyes and hope for the best, so it's moot. (Just kidding! -- but I need add that I, personally, own a Merit but rarely (age 76) use it... For me, there is just enough Vertigo/balance issue it is a toss-up, and -- as I wrote -- for me, mostly, I use it not.)

One of the old fixes was a piece of scotch tape in the middle of the glass lense. Worked for some, not too well for others. It is the cheap way to go if you can make it work for you. james

Tape works well. Try it before you pay for anything. I find a really small hole works best for me.

I have an item similar to a jewelers eyepiece. Clips on the bow of my glasses with a flip down eyepiece w/ 3 or 4 different lenes to help focus on pistol sights. wasn't as much of the blinder feel of taping a lenes. Not sure what it would be like at 100 or more. Sucks getting older GW

Clear sight made one that clamped on the bow and swung down in front of the eye came with 4 different lenses. Dont know if they are still in business. I have one that worked okay.

adj. iris googles (Knobloch and Champion brands) have been and are my main help when with irons only_
never tested beyond 300 meters, but you can bet they works very well, once you're accustomed to them_
the cheaper hole-on-tape works, also, and worth the try, but it's more difficult to center it on your eye, imho_

...I agree: I learned about them from former olympic shooters, coming in help when they hear me curse about my fuzzy front post on K98k

I've used Knoblocks for years in High Power, Smallbore and Silhouette. They are excellent but, are expensive compared to a Merit disc.

Champions Choice has what you need:

    And of course Knoblocks:

Another good source is Art Negard, aka "Shooting Sight": https://shootingsight.com/

Additionally, check out Freelands and Creedmoor.

I used the small lens ring on my knob blocks. I also made me maintain a consistent head position. I bought both my clear sight and Knob Blocks from champions choice. I had the lens ground by a guy on commercial row ( he promoted the lenses and made the pnw rear sight). Its a cheap lens to have ground as its round small and the prescription is in the center since its adjustable to position where you need it.

I contacted Merit several times and they never replied. A fellow shooter uses EyePal so I checked it out, stick on, in stock, veteran owner, done - https://eyepalusa.com/
