Red face Scored right on time...

Getting back into Smelting and Molding and looking around for sources of lead. I had done some work for a man who repaired pipe organs and called him. He was on his way to the scrap yard with a load of pipes in his truck. sold it to me instead at $.20 / lb Got over a 100 lbs worth with more to come next month.

This is a heads up that at times some organ pipes contain metals such as zinc. You may want to do the acid test on the pipes before tossing them in the pot. Sounds like a great stroke of luck and timing. Good for you.

Organ pipes can also be made of pure tin. I picked up a couple hundred pounds of tin calliope pipes once for $36.

Nice Score and a good contact to have. Be cautious, like has already been said, may contain zinc. Also could be tin which would be even a better score!
