    mec marksman press

got my mec press yesterday. the primer catching design is a novel idea. however i can't use the primer catching tray on my loading bench. the bench is too thick and nothing will work. i have to put my thinkn cap on.

It always shows the press mounted on a riser. Go figure. Once you figure it out, it's a good press from what I understand.

Porthos, put enough riser under each side of the press to raise it enough to slide the primer catcher tray under, problem solved! Orrrrr, get the riser for this press, will make the whole process easier. Either way, good luck, you made a good choice for a fine press!
I firmly believe that you should only get treated by how you act, not by who or what you are!!

Yep, the MEC mount is the way to go. I imagine the Inline-Fab stand would work too. Note that the primer catch pan will bounce a primer out every so often when it is empty. I padded the inside bottom which cured that issue. I also put a piece of velcro under the tray to hold it in place better.

    Just FWI...
