    Lost my dad this afternoon.

He'd been in declining health for several years now. Stroke, many heart attacks, CHF, renal failure and so much more.

My dad loved his 2 boys! My older brother passed in 2004 and i am the remaining offspring. Mom passed 2 years ago. He made me the man i am today. He taught me how to fish, hunt, garden, process meats, he taught me mechanic work (which he excelled at) and so much more. I will miss his company, fishing, hunting, his experience and advise. He grew up hard when his dad passed when my dad was 14. He was 14 at the time and as one of the oldest children he had to provide for his family by doing whatever he could. He provided for his family as a young man and for us as best he could. I have watched that man go to work in so much pain he could barely walk and so sick he was almost dead. Some of those times were tough but we were happy. We didn't know we were poor as we had what we needed.

My heart is hurting. I miss you daddy. You are no longer suffering sir. Rest in peace daddy.
Life is so much better with dogs!

No words can comfort you in this time of loss - but I offer prayer for you and your father's family.

labradigger1, please accept my sincere heartfelt condolences to you and your family. May the peace of the Lord touch you and your family in the days to come.
I firmly believe that you should only get treated by how you act, not by who or what you are!!

I'll never forget the look on my dad's face when I told him I was sweating copper for hot water boilers.

"Where did you learn how to do that?"

    I learned watching you dad!

    "I never taught you anything!"

Ohh yes you did, you taught me everything.

    Miss ya Dad. RIP JWJ

My father passed when I was 20 and I never got to admit to him what a good person he was in my life. I can really appreciate the pain you are going through, but hope that you also can remember those good times doing things you both enjoyed. Enjoy those moments when you see or do something that reminds you of your shared experiences. Peace to you and your family.

Very sorry for the loss of your Father - May the Good Lord make his presence known to you at this time of sadness - and may the love of your father remain with you until you see him again

I am so sorry for your loss...mine has been gone since 1999 and I still miss him but just reflect on the great times you both shared with each other and your family and it will comfort you....just remember what he taught you and apply to your daily activities and you will be made whole again and just remember that if you listen to your heart your dad will still be there to guide you!

Going it alone is hard, harder than I expected.

But I know he taught you well, so I know you will make it.

Go with God, God Bless and keep you.

Prayers for you in grief, it takes time for grief to pass, however, the memories will remain. All the best.
