setting new duke body trap. home made setting tool?

is there something wrong with me? I think so. I no longer have hand strength enough to set even a new duke 110 bt mag body trap. im going to have to make a setting tool. has anyone else made their own setting tool? anyone with picture and dimensions? I'm making some rat trap sets out of wood with a slot for the trap spring and a screen on one end so the critter can smell the bait

Do you have the setting tool for 220 and 330 's? If so see if that will help you to set them . I have some I had a hard time to set and that is what I used. It works for me.

I made a setting tool out of a gaulking gun. Reversed of course. Cut the pull loop shorter. and bent a tight loop so it will draw up tight.

I've set a conibear 220 with a rope. Never did use it, though. I tripped it with a stick, and that was a scary event. There are videos on YouTube how to set up the trap with a rope

I will have to check on that . I will let you know . I know it is 1" flat stock and I think 1/4" thick. Just to let you know . I try the caulking gun setter on my 330's and it did not last long. I end up had to buy the one that was made to set the traps. Here is a link to how they look and if you want to just buy it . https://schmittent.com/product-categ...-trap-setters/

There is no difference between communism and socialism, except in the means of achieving the same ultimate end: communism proposes to enslave men by force, socialism—by vote. It is merely the difference between murder and suicide. Ayn Rand

Here is about to make your own , need (2) 1"x1/4"x24" flat steel . then on each you do the following . 5/16" hole on center 7 1/4" down . as for the notch 5/8" down on the same end you start with to do your 5/16" hole above it you put the notch . You put a 3/8" hole and have it 3/16" in on one side . Do this on both flats , then use a 5/16" x 1" bolt , (2) flats washer and nut. It will look like one of the pictures of the link I posted. If you do not want the nut come loose . Peen it over. after you get it to work the way you like .

Those 120's can be a pain to try to set. For how small they are , I am doing good setting the 110's. for how it is for me. I use my setting tool mainly now. Also the one I said about setting the 330's because the setting tool I gave how to make, I do not have it anymore to set it like I use too. also that tool you can use one hand to set the traps springs .
