    .31 cal cuties

    Went to a little gunshow this morning. Favorable price for the pair and the had to come home with me. Marker?

    Do a search of the proof marks, they will indicate country of origin at least.

    Cool! I have got the itch to get a '49 Pocket but haven't found one yet. Good score!

    AC= 1977
    AD= 1978
    Need closer photos to determine who made them.
    If I remember correctly, I used to use #0 buckshot for a roundball (#0=.32 in (49 grain)
    Does the smaller one have a round barrel, or is it just the pic that makes it look round?

    The smaller does have a round barrel. “ A “ looking mark on left side of frame.

    Are there any markings on the round part of the barrel? Maybe underneath?
    The brass framed larger revolver with the engraving reminds me of a gun I had that was imported by FIE, but I'm not sure who actually made it.

    The smaller gun has the hinged loading lever of the 1851 but a round barrel, which, as I remember, went with the 1860 Colt (creeping loading lever).
    Interesting. Should be good shooters if you don't overload the powder.

    No other markings. I had the brass framed one apart. It originally would not stay at half cock. A good cleaning of all parts fixed that. The internals are not finely finished so a lower end gun I’m sure. I would replace the bolt if the part could be found. But fits the hand nicely and has a charm of its own.

    These little Colts got way more interesting to me after I saw this Youtube by Mark Hubbs of Eras Gone Bullet Molds. Check out that performance!

    Those small frame Colt-pattern .31's are neat little guns - nice grab !

    I built a rustic case for this Uberti .31
