    .38/55 cast bullets

I have been having a Devil of a time getting the desired bullet to load for my C-Sharps .38/55. The manufacturers are not producing much of a choice lately. I am looking for a cast bullet about 255 Gr. 377 dia. that does NOT take a gas check. At this time the only ones I can find are .379 dia. or larger. I have ordered some .379's but I do not know how much different they will shoot than the .377 dia. The bore slugged .375 & .376 which is what Sharps told me my gun was. What effect will the different diameter bullets have on accuracy, I am shooting competition.

You should be able to size the .379 down to .377 without any trouble. I use NOE's sizing kit and bushings.

Have you considered resizing your commercial .379 diameter bullets?

NOE makes an inexpensive push-thru sizer die in the diameter you are looking for and a .002" reduction I would think is easily doable.

As usual late to the party, by 4 minutes.

Prior to your good suggestions I found that neither Saeco nor Lyman make that size resizing die either.

    Try here:https://noebulletmolds.com/site/shop...-bushing-b377/

This bushing with NOE's sizing body and a .375 push rod will probably get what you want.

I've never used the NOE system, but there certainly enough recommendations on the forum that they should work well for what you want to do.

Have you tried to shoot any of the 379's? Generally 1 or 2 thousands over groove is good with lead. I would shoot a bunch and see. Lyman size dies are out there, may take some looking.

Lee will make a custom 377 push thru die....however I am a HUGE fan of the NOE system once you have the die body changing sizes is about $10.
