    T/C New Englander

I have a 12 guage New Englander on the way. I’m going to start working on a turkey load when it gets here. Any of you guys want to share your turkey loads?

Do a search for Skychief smoothbore loads.I have not tried them yet but saved the post to try sometime. My New Englander is cylinder bore also using plastic shot cups tightened up the pattern for rabbits and pheasants never used it for turkey

I plan on trying the Skychief method. What shot cups are you using?

I just used the plastic shot cups for loading modern shells.Powder than a fiber or wool wad, shot cup and shot then a wool or card wad on top

Finally had a chance to try some loads out yesterday. I ended up with 70 grains of 2F, 1/8” over powder wad, 1.5 oz. Of mixed 5/6 shot, over the shot card, then an olive oil soaked cushion wad. This was the Skychief way of loading that was mentioned above. Patterns ended up fairly tight for a cylinder bored barrel. I feel really good about 20-25 yard shots for turkeys.
