    overbore jacketed/solid bullets

Ok... I'm desperate. I know this is a cast boolit site only but I know too that you all shoot jacketed loads too.

I'm sure I shared what my groove diameter my Ruger Redhawk is, .431

Eventually I will gather what I need to make this thing a great shooter cast boolit wise, but in the mean time I'd like to load some jacketed too and some solids for black bear. Up the ladder they might go is a top of the head shot. I was told about a hard cast boolit, and if any one has had the experience let me know. Having a hard time finding overbore bullets. Just .430

With jacketed bullets it is less necessary to match bullet diameter to bore diameter-- your .430" jacketed bullets will shoot fine.

.429 didn't make it to the grooves after 50 rounds and was awful accuracy wise. At 25 yards.

Reading can provide limited education because only shooting provides YOUR answers as you tie everything together for THAT gun. The better the gun, the less you have to know / do & the more flexibility you have to achieve success.

    What's a few ? LOL I guess 10 or 15 ? I would need at least 100. Just emailed them, we'll see.

You may try a box of Buffalo Bore before you delve into the cast venture with moulds and such. Hard cast, top of the velocity ladder and world re-knowned.
    Tim doesn't mess around.

How often have you read of a Blakie being shot coming up the ladder ?
I know of once. And any 240-265 grain 44 slug would have done that misdirected bear back down real fast. If I remember right Ruger revolvers are 6 shots.
Get into the 300 grainers and again there are not too many Blakies who are going to climb any ladder after a couple of those big slugs bust open his scull.

What good is an undersized bullet anywhere else besides it coming up a ladder ? And how often do hunters who don't write about thier feild experiences have bears climb thier stands ? I see you tube vids here and there, and if you go on there you'll see. I gave up on 13 videos of them climbing the tree or ladders.

Contrary to the website... A Rep says this
We offer sample pack of 20 projectiles free and then anything over that you have to pay for the projectiles and freight up to 500 quantity.
Just sent my cylinder to have the throats honed by DougGuy. Looking forward to this !
