    Craving blind robbins...

Closest thing I can find around here is Beach Cliff Kipper Snacks.
Back in the day, they had them in the seafood section of the store.

    Yup.
    It's strips of smoked herring.
    Basically, fish jerky.
Kipper snacks are similar, but come in a can and are moist.
Supposedly a "Polish" thing at Christmas time.

I didn’t recognize the name, but when you described them, I remembered. The ones I remember were packaged in plastic hanging on a rack. They were sure salty. I guess that’s why my father enjoyed eating them so much with beer.

I truly believe we need to get back to basics.

    Get right with the Lord.
    Get back to the land.
Get back to thinking like our forefathers thought.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you
and give you His peace. Let all of the earth – all of His creation – worship and praise His name! Make His
    praise glorious!

When I was young the bars around here sold Blind Robins. They were in a little plastic bag and stapled onto a cardboard display board. I remember the board was white with blue lettering. Jeez, been a long time since I've had one of those.

Funny, I am eating some pickled herring right now. One of my favorites. My family is Swedish and I grew up eating Herring one way or another mainly with my Dad. He always had Blind Robins in the cupboard.

Beach Cliff Kippers are good, have some in the cupboard.

Time to make some anchovy gravy,to dip Italian bread in. I remember Blind Robins and my Wife loved them too. And we went crazy over the Crab cakes in the foil shaped holder. My Mom was from Amsterdam and we ate a lot of pickled Herring.

I never understood why people eat bait when there are so many good fish swimming around!

I've seen similar with Herring and other fish.

I don’t live too far from Pinconning. Stoped there many times to buy their cheeses. There is a huge outdoor store down the road from them. Worth the drive.
