    MP Mold - 115gr

Has anyone purchased and used this mold from MP Molds? -

    https://www.mp-molds.com/product/356...o-lube-groove/

It is a NLG 115gr mold but I am uncertain if the description is incorrect as it says the drop weight is 120gr. I have messaged MP but no response as yet. Can I take the data off the website as gospel? I am looking for a 115 NLG that will drop at about 118gr using 6% Antimonial lead and this will work but I have heard responses from MP is, uhm well lacking. ANy advise on the advertised drop weights on their site vs actual drop weight?

While on the subject - https://www.mp-molds.com/product/mp-...o-lube-groove/

Has anyone used this mold, any thoughts on advertised weight vs dropped weight using 6% antimonial lead?

    Thanks in advance.

I have not used that bullet. But my experience with MP molds is that most drop a grain or two heavy. So if it is a 115gr it wouldn't be unusual to drop at 118-120gr depending on your alloy.

I have the 125gr Traditional version of this bullet. It drops about 127.5gr.

Thanks for your response. What alloy are you casting with?

Do they make a lube groove version of that bullet? If they do, check the weight on it and compare. I have a nlg version of the 124 and it casts at 134.5 with my alloy. My alloy is 50-50+2%
Due to the price of primers, warning shots will no longer be given!

Did you mean to type 134,5 or is it a type and were you meaning to enter 124,5?

You sure that's not the 147gr variant with a HP? That would drop down to about that weight....

I believe you, it's just hard to believe the mold would be that much off. I wonder if it just got marked wrong...

Measure the overall length of your 125 bullet, and we can compare them. It is possible that it was marked wrong. I never really thought about that.
