So the stock is plastic painted to look like wood? Or more like laminate?

I had a Hunter (seems to be this gun with different locking arrangement) in 7-08 and except for the desire for 2 inches longer barrel left me with NO complaints.
Faster twist on the 222 would certainly be handy also.
Hopefully they will make this up in the pistol form also!
