    SKS identification

I have a SKS Im trying to figure out what the serial number and model.
This the side of the receiver
    Attachment 321656

Bottom of the trigger guard magazine and top of bolt all have 0622 and it has a spike bayonet sling mounts on the side.
From what I've read so far it more than likely should have a serial number in the millions not in the hundreds thousands
Any help with the serial number will be appreciated.

The Chinese only used the last few digits on the parts that were not the receiver. Your serial number is the 730622. Without a few more pictures I can't really tell you a good date. But this sort of looks like a commercial SKS.

Got a pic of the whole rifle? It would help.

0141 stamp is the arsenal of manufacture.
Also looks like your rifle markings indicate "Public Security Forces".

    Daver7,

Very nice rifle. Happily, I got a few in the early 1990s for $90.00 to $95.00 new in the box with cleaning kit, chest pouch and sling. All my SKS arms are accurate and sure fire with both cast and jacketed reloads. I gave up an M1 Carbine for an SKS as the best farm gun for me. You have a fine arm, enjoy it.

I had all the markings saved from a few years ago, but I’m sure I don’t have them anymore when I got my 1956’ Norinco.

    jd,

No, I did not get a case of free ammo. I recall the prices for corrosive 7.62X39mm ammo was cheap, but I do not shoot corrosive ammo in a gas gun.

I casted the Lyman 130 grain RN #311410, I believe, that shot well with IMR4198.

    Be well.
