    Craving Chynese food....

Have to hit the buffet this afternoon.

I cook my own stir-fry. With regard to buffets, the old Chinese saying is, “People should wait for food, not food wait for people”.

I need some too. Or some Mongolian BBQ. The noodles, man. I need the noodles!

Huh I always thought that was RAT on a stick. Taste like chicken either way.

Wish I had an all-you-can-eat Chinese joint anywhere near me.

I quit eating in them a long time ago.
Whenever the news reporters want to do a gross restaurant story, or the health inspector needs to look like they're
doing something, that's the first kind of place they go to.

I do cook some reverse engineered/copycat recipes from them though.

One family that owned the typical Americanized Chinese buffets near me got busted bad for health violations. Shut down 8 locations in 7 towns. One was bought by a local and they are doing a better job at keeping food fresh and safe to eat.

We have a Chinese buffet in our small town. It’s one of 5 local restaurants. You couldn’t pay me to eat that crap. I tried on two occasions. My rule of thumb is if I can’t get to a toilet fast enough once I’ve left your restaurant, it’s bad. I’m sure the cat and squirrel fried rice is acceptable elsewhere.

When I was Plumbing, I'd gone into the kitchen in one of them.
There's Mam-san sitting on the floor chopping vegetables........ And, NOTHING gets thrown out/away for any reason.

Newly opened ones are less likely to cause immediate trip to the can.
However, it can only go downhill from there on.

we're infested, here_ the smell of that deli calls for a bath afterwards and a trip to the dry cleaners for clothes.
and I don't even want to know what they do: the smell is enough for me. same thing if they run non-Chinese cuisine_
    tried, just once. never again.
    thanks but no, thanks_

My wife and I have much preferred Thai food to Chinese food for about 10 years now. As a whole it’s not as greasy and tastes much better in our opinion. It can be pretty hot too!
