    38 Ballard EXL

38 Ballard EXL utilizes a heel bullet with a single grease groove ahead of the case. Would these bullets have been outside lubricated originally or would the shooter be expected to lubricate prior to shooting? Any pictures I've found of this cartridge shows no evidence of lubricant. Thanks, Dan

I personally lube them in addition to the groove, I keep them in an mtm case with a piece of rigid foam installed to hold the tips and cut down on debris. I have used the upside down lubrisizer trick also and it works well.
