    MVA is the only way to go. I have a 6x Parson's on my Marlin lever gun, cost more than the gun and barrel replacement, don't think it is made anymore. Layman made a scope for a Ruger No. 1 package, it was junk, you might find one. You had advice from a man that has walked the walk and talked the talk, so be dumb and not follow his advice.

    D Z Arms makes a good scope equipped with very good mounts but I don't think it will with 17" scope block spacing.
