    Some 500 grain Babbitt goodness.

To the left are my pure lead bullets, to the right are my babbitt X (xperimental) projectiles. Yes, neither my lead/babbitt bullets are perfect or pretty, but they all fly...some nose end first, some sideways, some backwards, but they do fly. So far, no leading at all out of a 45-90 26" barrel, they are slick as snot...unless I really give it a go, I can't easily shave any lead using my pocket knife. I been making these with a 150-158 grain soft nose and the are fantastic. They are like a runaway freight train pushing a Honda into a wall. Gotta love White Metal!

Try a wrap of Teflon tape on those bullets, probably stop them from tumbling.
The 45-70, the only Government I trust.

For speeds I am just shy of 1550, I sold my Labradar last year and still haven't bought another chronograph as of late. If my eyesight was as good as it once was, I would do groups all day, however, I just shoot for fun. Being that I am getting out off guns and anything gun related...I don't have a need for groups...sorry. These bullets fly great, I was just having a little fun with the whole sideways and backwards. Best report I have is that they do not keyhole at 100-150+/- yards which is the shortest range on our property...well, my boss's property. We have a gong at 450, and can shoot out to roughly 900 yards, but it's been getting dark early now so on my lunch break I just shoot at the shortest range. I have been slowly transitioning to breeding snakes and rats so if I do anything with guns or casting...it is just for fun and not for perfection, prettiness or precision...just as long as it goes bang.
