    The ones used at my county fair were the Rem 241. I remember the hot brass dropping out the bottom of the action into my shirt sleeve.

    So that's probably what I was shooting, the Rem. Another Browning design.

    I don't even remember the target we shot at. I do remember not winning anything.

    But, the full auto BB guns shooting at a red star. Those I remember. The technique was key. Shoot a largish hole past the end of each star point. Hopefully about 10rnds each. Then kinda perforate in between the holes a little, 5 rnds each. Then hit the middle until it pops out. We could win at that enough that we were 1) used by the owner to demonstrate how easy it was and 2) asked to not come back until the next night.

    FWIW, a couple decades later went back to repeat the deal. The bores on the guns had been reamed (or worn) out so you were lucky to hit the paper.
