What powder are you using? I've used 2400, Unique and Re7, same boolits in a Marlin.

You turned him into a “good pig”!
I haven’t had a chance to get one -yet- with my 38-55; but I use 23 grs of 4198 and the Lee bullet as well.
    Rock on, brother!

Well I scored on a spike today with one of my 38-55's First ever with it. Using 21.5 gr 4759 (Please Note this is slightly over max. Don't suggest anyone use it!!!) & the 379-250 lee bullet. Hit him coming at me right behind the right shoulder. I was amazed at the damage it caused, the guts & liver were completely destroyed minor damage to the lungs & heart was in tact.

That is sweet man, congratulations. I'm wanting to go hog hunting with a couple of my guns.

What's the details on the gun? Is it a new one, restored older one, or an amazing condition old one?

Nice pig! Beautiful gun. I've got a '94 38/55 rebore that I took a fat WT doe with last week. --same results. Had a great, short blood trail. I used the same boolit over 4227/dacron moving about 1350fps. It left a nice exit hole even with acww.

Good hog, any dead wild hog is good. I traded into a 375 Win 94 XTR. The 375 Is just a tad longer 38x55. Have yet to shoot it, got the Starline brass, a 250 grain FN plain base mould for powdr coating. I will get to shooting it when I get the 358 Win bolt gun finished. XTR will need new sights for me, so not just a load and shoot deal.

Gosh what a handsome rifle in a legendary chambering.
Winchester/Miroku and not a Cimarron, right?

This is a new model Winchester/Miroku. 24” half octagon/half round. Holds 8 38-55 cartridges in tubular magazine. Due to my age I put Williams FP rear sight and a taller front sight on. Also, this barrel seems to run approx 200fps faster then older ones. 1:15 twist. I really like it.
