I took 43 lb of stick-on wheel weights added it to 14 lb of clip-on wheel weights which was then added to 28 lb of a homemade lyman number two alloy. I mixed it all together in this big pot melted it on top of my turkey fryer and then I threw in some paraffin wax and then I stirred up and scooped out all the dross.
The mirror finish is 700° at this point and weighs more than 80 lb. It takes a surprising amount of heat to melt such a heavy pot. I use a soup ladle to pour the metal into the Lyman ingot molds.
I'm excited I have not used softer alloy in a while.
