Got a buck Monday (20 Nov) with my Winchester 94 in 32 Special. Load was 32 grains of H4895 under an Accurate 32-180A bullet cast from 50/50 CoWW/Pure Pb + 2% Tin. I was in a blind in a fencerow facing a small woodlot in a corner. I planted a bunch of fast growing oaks and various fruit trees there December 2010 and that along with all the wild trees that also sprouted created a deer paradise about 8 acres in size. This 5 point buck came out of the corner at about 6:45am and headed out into the cut corn field beside me. He had his head down behind some weeds eating corn when I fired. From his reaction I new I had missed but couldn't figure out how at only 50 yards. For some reason he only trotted a short distance and stopped before going into the woods. Range still about 50 yards and now I had an unobstructed broad side shot. I put one behind his shoulder and about halfway up. He jumped with a kick and headed for the thickest part of the thicket of course. There are several big blown down trees that took a while to search through but finally found that he had turned 90 degrees once inside the woods and was laying 40 or 50 yards away in a relatively open spot. This is the 1st deer I've taken with that bullet but the 4th with the 32 Special.
I later found a small limb about the size of your finger that was so close to me that I didn't see it and it was shot in two. Obviously such a limb could turn a bullet enough to miss a target 50 yards beyond. Made me feel a bit better about myself finding that.
