    NOE Mold Guide

Ordered the Lyman Mag 25 and stumbled across this accessory in my research.

This is a must have for me but NOE shows out of stock, of course my luck.

    Anyone know of an alternative?

    Thanks

I used a piece of 1/4” x 2” aluminum flat bar. Drilled and countersink holes in the same location as the one that comes with the pot. Works great for all types and sizes and it was free from the nearest fab shop scrap bin. Hope this helps.Click image for larger version.

If I can find it, I’ll sell you mine. PM me.

I found that alloy spilling over the end of the mold can freeze into a drip hanging off the end of the blocks, which can then jam in the cut out of the NOE guide.

The round bar guide on my old ProMelt allows me to slide, turn or tilt the mold in just about any I want, so that’s what I have gone back to.

Thanks for the input Dannyd, I'll look into it. Is that tiny lift table stable? What keeps it from sliding?

    How about some pictures folks?

I just really thought the mould guide from NOE looked really slick, I watched a video by Full Lead Taco on YT and it seems to be what I'm looking for. I just want to be able to slide the mould in without working on alignment too much, more consistent in the location of the stream since I find that very conducive to quality.

    I pm'd Kevin c.

    Thanks for all the input.

It's screwed to the bottom plate, I have one of the first NOE guides and it sucked, but it has been designed, so I don't know about the new one.

I have cast about 25,000 bullets on that Mag 25 using the lift table for me it works great because I have 55 moulds and can change the height in a few seconds.

The pro melt guide works too. I use each one. The guide on the Mag25 in the picture is homemade used it before someone suggested the lift table.

Dannyd, what about slipping around, any problems?

Have you ever thought about attaching some small angle for a guide?

You could attach a rail, but I have not had any problems with it so far, this months production.
