    MP .729 Shotgun mold-What wad?

I have an MP .729 525gr mold that is a hollow base Diablo style. I have the same style NOE/Lyman 500gr mold but in .680. I have a couple of different sabot/wads I can use with it.
I'm not exactly sure what/how I'm supposed to load this full-bore slug. I have a couple of rifle-barreled shotguns, a few more smoothbores, and even more rifled chokes...I could use some guidance.

I haven't used that slug but being full bore you'd likiely want a hard card wad column under it. In my exerience using cushion leg wads with the petals cut off doesn't work very well with hollow base slugs, though if you fill the slug and/or use a couple of 1/8" nitro card wads directly under the slug that will keep a cushion leg from jamming into the hollow cavity.

That slug is more like 630 grs., not 525 grs. so load accordingly. It is called MP 12Ga 525 – Full Bore Slug Mold but is really just a scaled up 525 gr. slug so casts heavier. Best to confirm weight before loading!

Yes that thread that Longbow put up has a lot of good info on loading those slugs.
