    2.25-inch gun belts

I can identify two distinct 2.25-inch leather gun belts - the "River" or border patrol with its separately affixed smaller sub-belt fastener; and a standard police belt. Because the river belt is assembled and standard police belt is one piece, I want to believe one class is superior (however you define superior). Please clarify for me.

The dress belt is worn on the uniform pants, the gunboat is worn over the dress belt and held in place with keepers( about 4 of them). Nowadays a lot of your uniform belts are made of nylon webbing material where there is velcro on one belt and the corresponding opposite velcro on the other. This is to keep from having to use keepers to the keep the gunbelt in place. Ive gone so far as to glue velcro on my "dress"leather belt and the other velcro on the leather gunbelt. Works ok, but I prefer what Ive used in the last 34 years.
