We aren't sure WHAT it is, but it sure is fun!

Remember LAGS, and his creations? One of the single shot pistols he put together got a ride today. Da Boy had a grand time with it. With 20 grains of Olde Eynsford 3F it did a quite good job at 11 paces!
This gun will put a ball through ye, AND set ye on fire! All in all, we put 10 balls down the barrel, shot absolutely nothing else, and had a great time! Thank you, LAGS!

BTW, horse pistol, gentleman's companion, any ideas? The 18th Century Says Hi?

That is the pistol that I call Mesquito.
That is because the stock is built out of a dead Mesquite tree branch.

I love pistols like that. CVA used to sell one about that size called the Colonial Pistol. I always intended to buy one of the kits and build it, but never got around to it. I built other ones, just not that one. Recently I saw a barrel for one and bought it, then bought some other assorted parts to put it together. Mine is ugly but fun to shoot.

LAGS, you did a great job on that pistol!

son has a 58 Zoli horse pistol - has shot minies in it a couple times but usually has better sense - its quite accurate with a round ball if you pay attention

Rights, and Privileges, are not synonymous. We have the Right to Bear Arms. As soon as the Government mandates firearm registration, and permiting, then that Right becomes a Privilege, and may be taken away at our Master's discretion.

That is a .54 barrel cut off piece from a rifle I rebuilt for Armoredman's son.
It is basically built out of spare parts that I had sitting in the shop.
There are posts on both the rifle rebuild and this pistol build.

The ramrod even has two different size screw taps on each end to allow for various accessories, brushes, jags, screw, to be attached!

I have two barrels left to build a couple more pistols.
One is a .50 cal barrel blank that is a new cut off.
The other is a .45 Spanish pistol barrel that I bought.
I really liked that .54 pistol that I built.
If I have another large caliber barrel that I cut down , I will build another one similar to that one.
I already have an extra Philadelphia Derringer lock like the one I used on that pistol , plus extra lock side plates that I made that fit a barrel set up with a nipple drum , rather than a Patent style breech plug.

Hmm, how about a double barreled pistol?
