A very special George Gibbs Farquharson recently finished by Steve Bertram.
Brought back to it's original style and purpose - rebarreled (chambered in 500/450 No.1 Express), new forend and a proper finish on the action which had been blacked at some point.

Wow! That's beautiful. Do you have plans to take it hunting?

On the practical side, do the Selous plates on the sides of the wrist make the pistol grip cold if carrying it in the winter?

I sure would like to take it out for a hunt some day!

As for the plates, I would think that the steel would feel colder than a wood grip.
Although, if it were that cold, I’d be wearing some sort of gloves.

The other end of that question is about how they feel in the heat and sun. One owner in Africa says he doesn’t notice the steel heating up but I would tend to try to keep them out of direct sunlight if possible.
