    5K Sounds high but if you price buying that much Bison meat it really isn't that far out of line and you get to harvest it. The hunt included 3 days, 2 nights, 3 squares a day, license, and processing. For me it was a bucket list thing, not an annual event.
    Four years ago you could do it for a little over half that much.

    A neighbor and I raised bison for a few years. T'aint nothin like bison chili. I ruined a Christmas buffet party put on by my commanding officer's wife by putting the chili on the table next to the turkey, roast beef, and ham. All the other officers hung around the chili in a tight group till it was gone. The nice lady never forgave me.
