Free brass arrester for my AR

I hate losing brass! I bought some contraptions to hang on the AR upper as I shoot and recently went to shoot and forgot the brass catcher. Now what, and the idea came to place a cleaning rag over upper to keep brass home at my feet or on the shooting table. For me it works like a charm and is totally free!

Yep, I really like the Caldwell brass catcher that attaches to the pic rail......but I have draped a rag/clothe on the scope/upper so it hangs over the ejection port,....it lays the brass down in one pile!

One of those “Duh, why didn’t I think of that?” moments! My AR with the slick side Bushmaster upper puts its brass in a neat pile…… under the tractor parked by my shooting bench.

Wish they concocted one for M1 (garand or carbine) which are much more pricey than 5.56 brass

It would be easier for me to move the tractor for the brass than to crawl around to get it!

before the caldwells i used to keep ia sheet in the truck and spread it out and shoot so the brass fell on it. when done shooting just bunch it all up take it home and separate by caliber. just bought one of those roller basket rake dealys but havent tried it yet. i know anymore before i bend down and pick brass up one at a time ill leave it for a younger guy

Kids 6ft plastic shell swimming pool from Dollar General saves the day at my home shooting table.

Each discovers each old thing and they throw up their hands and say ‘See! Look what I have found! Look upon what I know!’ And each believes it is something new.
