    45 Cowboy Special Brass

    WTB 45 Cowboy Special Brass

Looking for a few hundred of these, reasonably priced,
either once fired, fired a few times, or new.
    Can be dirty range pickups.

Note: the brass I am looking for here is:
    NOT 45 ACP,
    NOT 45 Auto,
NOT 45 Auto Rim (which is used in double action 45 ACP revolvers [e.g. 1917, S&W 25/625] without using moon clips, and has a 0.090" thick rim.)
    NOT 45 Colt
    NOT 45 Schofield

This is relatively "new" cartridge case (came out around 15 years ago)
to be used in cowboy action shooting (CAS/SASS)
and was intended to shoot in 45 Colt cylinders using lighter loads than your traditional 45 Colt load.

It's rim and head diameter above the rim is the same as 45 Colt, but it is 45 ACP length and has 45 ACP internal case dimensions.
Again, it has a 45 Colt rim, which is thinner than the rim on the .45 Auto Rim case.

Please let me know how many you have, if they are new or used, and how much you want for them, including shipping.

    Thanks!

If you still are unclear about exactly what this brass is, please see:

and please, no discussions in this thread of "why?" and "don't do that"

    Official name: Cowboy .45 Special

Very nice brass can be formed by trimming .45 Colt cases to 0.898" length.

Starline has exclusive production rights to this "wildcat" cartridge currently. They occasionally have production runs.

Finding it as range pickup is just about impossible. Most CAS shooters are firing it in revolvers, and the brass never hits the ground.

(buy new from Starline, or chop up .45 Colt cases are the two viable approaches)
