    cerrobend question

    I got this in a batch buy and wonder if it is usable for chamber cast?

    I'd encourage doing a search and read up on it before ya used it.
    The fumes are toxic, and it expands when it cools where cerrosafe shrinks.

    The good news is you can add Lead to it and make it into cerrosafe.
    I'm not sure how much, but I think it's quite a bit.

    No, as said above, it expands and you will have to melt it back out of the receiver. However, if you have tight bends to make in tubing, it is great stuff to have.

    I was a bit leery, that is why I wanted to check. I have the good stuff so will put this on the shelf. And leave it as is.

    I use CerroBend to lock up barrels into aluminum sleeves for my barrel vice.
