    Not new here...

I'm not new to this site but I don't post much. I went to sell some Dan Wesson parts I got as part of a trade and realized I don't have the required number of posts to list them. Please bear with me as I try to go from 11 posts to 30 If your in dire need of DW springs and screws PM me. Neil

S&S is a just courtesy provided by the site for its contributing members.

As a place for anyone off the street to come in, looking at the site as some sort of free resource- not so much.

In the past, I've just given stuff to regular members rather than posting it for sale on S&S
to be grabbed up by people who, except for all their posts above the minimum being 'bump' or WTS on S&S-
contribute exactly nothing to the site.

I wouldn't be against giving any of these parts to a member that needs them. I just wouldn't want them ending up on somebodies gun show table. It's not that I don't read posts and ask questions around here it's just you folks give me the answers so fast my post count stays low.

remember its against the rules to "offer" to sell outside of s&s. agree with winger, if its not much, sometimes the karma is worth more than the dollars. you could always do like brassmagnet and let people apply for the freebe and then you decide who gets it

That might be what I'll do. They're gun parts so my first thought was the gunsmithing board but I'd probably find more takers on hand gun board. I'm not here trying to cash in and will try to play by the rules. I find this site a great source of information and entertainment.

Just a warning while on your way to 30 posts.
They have to be meaningful posts. Just not fluff to increase your post count.
And if you’re here just to sell then you might not be here too long.
As mentioned above S&S isn’t the primary purpose of this site.
    Neither is ‘The Pit’.
Both both places serve a purpose.
But keep in mind you can be also restricted from both places….

Welcome and may you always aim straight.

That's why I don't offer items for sale here even though the rules say I could. Appears my doing so would label me a parasite.

    Whatever.

With over 1800 posts, I would say far from it.

I think I got off on the wrong foot here. I've been lurking here for years and finally joined a year or so back to get an answer to a question I had. I've started a post or 2 but I'm not much of a poster more of a reader. I do check S&S regularly and have bought a couple molds I needed. It was and is my intension to get some parts I'll never use to someone who can. I've never been to the pit. I get all the aggravation I need by watching TV. Now that I've got this thread so far from gunsmithing I'll apologize for that and go see if anyone needs some springs and screws.

I don't know all but do have an opinion,,,, I can say if I'm selling normally at about 30 to 50% below market. So I like to let people that I have some control over get a chance to buy from me and I sell so if I can. End up buying a lot more then I sell. Ended up coming here because my questions got answered here. Most always I find the air or people nice to be around. Some sites are just too bossy and mouthy.

I do feel the site lost some of the characters that use to give it more of a personalty; that maybe they made more trouble also and did know when to say sorry or shut their mouth.

Do miss the helping that the site was known for; but I guess that was just not fair as some just take all they can and leaches are everywhere and the scammer and their like took that away.

    Nahhh,, you're good.

As you've found, the 'helping hands' section is great to pass on stuff to someone that might need it.

It's way down at the bottom of the front page, but the 'Pay it forward' is a good place also.
