1911 Smiths

Fellow in the club I belong to bought a new 1911 with a few issues. He is looking for someone to do a trigger job and just tune up his gun. Suggestions

Clark Custom Guns or Cylinder’s and Slide Shop.
The 1911 guys I knew are all dead!
Al Guidry in Metairie Louisiana was fantastic! He could do a wonderful slide to frame tightening!
And Matt Strasser in Chalmette was pretty good too!

I don’t wish to sound critical but:
Buying a New 1911 with some issues, that could use a trigger job and a tune up, sounds like it’s going to add two - three hundred to the cost of the pistol. In retrospect for the purchase price plus $300 he may have been better off just buying with a slightly better 1911 to start. My experience with most firearm upgrades is that it may shoot better but will still only be worth the initial purchase price.
Don’t ask how I figured that one out.
